		<official-title>To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to toll,
		  during active-duty service abroad in the Armed Forces, the periods of time to
		  file a petition and appear for an interview to remove the conditional basis for
		  permanent resident status, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H80CCFF47A9F943F58F7DAD4A6A30A51C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Tolling periods of time to
			 file petition and have interview for removal of condition</header>
			<subsection id="HCBC8A069B4354B04B4A5397E3F64D3F7"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 216 of the
			 Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1186a) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H901FE91BB2764A769FD456F17A524F8E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 subsection (g) as subsection (h); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HACA4B1C5CECD4AB5AC7F7815D9B36226"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subsection (f) the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H848050417E4A44D6853A8FE394AB1E67" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="HF5B4D49CC0B9497284CF7C21D59E89A3"><enum>(g)</enum><header>Service in Armed
				Forces</header>
							<paragraph id="HC3889645A5904C60863A59456F4D1D1F"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Filing
				petition</header><text>The 90-day period described in subsection (d)(2)(A)
				shall be tolled during any period of time in which the alien spouse or
				petitioning spouse is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States and
				serving abroad in an active-duty status in the Armed Forces, except that, at
				the option of the petitioners, the petition may be filed during such
				active-duty service at any time after the commencement of such 90-day
				period.</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H4BB7F77E8CD444B19EA6DB37415A26CB"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Personal
				interview</header><text>The 90-day period described in the first sentence of
				subsection (d)(3) shall be tolled during any period of time in which the alien
				spouse or petitioning spouse is a member of the Armed Forces of the United
				States and serving abroad in an active-duty status in the Armed Forces, except
				that nothing in this paragraph shall be construed to prohibit the Secretary of
				Homeland Security from waiving the requirement for an interview under
				subsection (c)(1)(B) pursuant to the Secretary’s authority under the second
				sentence of subsection
				(d)(3).</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H996D976A78304A5ABBC61DCBBD61349F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendments</header>
				<paragraph id="H4B777448EE65418986A5D211F42297BF"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 216(a)(1) of the Immigration and Nationality Act
			 (8 U.S.C. 1186a(a)(1)) is amended—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H5BB65103A832420798BC860D80F29EAD"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>(g)(1))</quote> and inserting <quote>(h)(1))</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H91F71034E680472E93FD4CD7064A79A1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>(g)(2))</quote> and inserting <quote>(h)(2))</quote>.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HFABF40E2576C4645B49F0899FE4DAD3F"><enum>(2)</enum><header>References</header><text>Section
			 216 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1186a) is amended—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HCDD98B85624E493D86970B601E7DB82E"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (d)(3), by striking <quote>Attorney General’s</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>Secretary’s</quote>;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H28B7DCD5813E4E75B2857CA4C37F7E38"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>Attorney General</quote> each place such term appears and inserting
			 <quote>Secretary of Homeland Security</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H564E9BFC9AC2436B991AC2BCAD11CDB8"><enum>(C)</enum><text>in subsections
			 (c)(1)(B) and (d)(3), by striking <quote>Service</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>Department of Homeland Security</quote>.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section><section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8EDF32F126D343258C69920B557E89E8" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Compliance with
			 PAYGO</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The budgetary effects of
			 this Act, for the purpose of complying with the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of
			 2010, shall be determined by reference to the latest statement titled
			 <quote>Budgetary Effects of PAYGO Legislation</quote> for this Act, submitted
			 for printing in the Congressional Record by the Chairman of the Committee on
			 the Budget of the House of Representatives, provided that such statement has
			 been submitted prior to the vote on passage.</text>
