		<official-title>To amend title 49, United States Code, to impose
		  limitations on airline practices concerning the expiration of tickets for air
		  transportation, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="HE4B1067E34BE497F82ADA28A50BC829F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Consumer Protection in Airline Ticket
			 Validity Act of 2010</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H3FB537249D4C42788B25E6C18AEF092D" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Expiration of tickets
			 for air transportation</header>
			<subsection id="HB380724212AF488EA476F7BFAEAA1DFB"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 41712 of
			 title 49, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the
			 following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H07FDAED35F14452D9E4BD9BBC8FEDB20" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="H1993F95F15A84B9DAFAA8B51524E1A63"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Expiration of
				tickets for air transportation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It shall be an unfair or deceptive practice
				under subsection (a) for any air carrier, foreign air carrier, or ticket
				agent—</text>
						<paragraph id="HBDC553BAFA0C4B7FB95CAA899F11F8A7"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">to sell a ticket for air transportation
				that expires before the last day of the 3-year period beginning on the date of
				issuance of the ticket; or</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="H839D3F76D2224368B8216082E16528DA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>to impose
				restrictions, penalties, or fees that are unreasonable, as determined by the
				Secretary, on rescheduling the itinerary of a passenger named on a ticket for
				air transportation if the rescheduling is requested before the ticket
				expires.</text>
						</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HE45852A902004AFFB24D893827C21CA5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Regulations</header><text>The
			 Secretary of Transportation shall issue regulations to carry out the amendment
			 made by subsection (a).</text>
