		  to expedite the application of the provision prohibiting rescissions of health
		  insurance coverage.</official-title>

		<section id="H31710F2641F249A8AF40B51926C3611B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Expediting application of the
			 prohibition on rescissions of health insurance coverage under
			 PPACA</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1004(b) of the
			 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111–148) is
			 amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HD1130CE377824C2ABF8404C0AF46426C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Rule.—</header-in-text>The amendments</quote> and inserting</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H6C96640BAF5F4DCF84FD483D9DE34247" style="OLC">
					<text><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Rule.</header-in-text></text><paragraph id="HA404433F4499482F82D49C6E6D2DEC50"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The
				amendments</text>
					</paragraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HB1E42FD0088F447CBE136A2004EFFADB"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new paragraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4CD5E4915DBB4266B979FC6FF48B68AC" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="HCEF463B98A2E4E7782F547D5A7D1D6F5"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Rule for
				rescissions</header>
						<subparagraph id="H1A754CC021E84ACB843EFAF750B1C28B"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2712 of the
				Public Health Service Act, as inserted by section 1001(5), shall take effect on
				the date of enactment of this Act.</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1649BCB0D1B6490FB8287F8774FC52A0"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Application
				during interim period</header><text>In the case a group health plan or health
				insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage
				rescinds such plan or coverage with respect to an enrollee, in violation of
				such section 2712 of the Public Health Service Act, during the period beginning
				on March 23, 2010, and ending on the date of the enactment of this
				paragraph—</text>
							<clause id="H5F99ED8FC2FA4F66A01886812B52B7FC"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the plan or issuer
				shall reinstate such enrollee in the plan or coverage and claims for services
				furnished to such enrollee during such period may be submitted to the plan or
				issuer for reimbursement and treated as if such rescission had not occurred;
				and</text>
							</clause><clause id="H9423FD4C47D2469C8CB446A8AFC4FFEA"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>the plan or
				issuer shall not be subject to any penalty for any such violation occurring
				during such
				period.</text>
