		<official-title>To direct the Administrator of the Federal Emergency
		  Management Agency to provide reimbursement for certain services relating to an
		  approved letter of map amendment, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H6AB2A3D375624EF998F41E25A2E40E0D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Fairness in Flood Mapping Act of
			 2010</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H87738681269D494682FACD638C8D34BB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reimbursement
			 relating to an approved letter of map amendment</header>
			<subsection id="HEAE97824E2C3471FADE25C465B17B46E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If an eligible entity
			 incurs expenses for the services of a covered service provider in obtaining a
			 letter of map amendment that is approved by the Administrator of the Federal
			 Emergency Management Agency in whole or in part, the Administrator shall
			 reimburse the eligible entity for the expenses incurred with respect to the
			 part approved.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HF3C2F719706343A2A67BBE1B21DCE472"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Applicability</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Expenses incurred by an eligible entity for
			 the services of a covered service provider in obtaining a letter of map
			 amendment that is approved by the Administrator in whole or in part shall be
			 eligible for reimbursement under subsection (a) if the approval was obtained
			 during fiscal year 2003 or thereafter.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HE6EE1122008A4A70B64D4E5B8261BCE9"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In
			 this section, the following definitions apply:</text>
				<paragraph commented="no" id="HBB1768C1555544E5BC3962CD5875DB39"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Community</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>community</term> has the
			 meaning given that term in section 59.1 of title 44, Code of Federal
			 Regulations.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H88B04E9ED6B042BAB7675F1198C49549"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Covered service
			 provider</header><text>The term <term>covered service provider</term> means a
			 surveyor, engineer, or other similar service provider, but not a legal service
			 provider.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H317BF3FAC7314775BC10EFE3494B8DA7"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Eligible
			 entity</header><text>The term <term>eligible entity</term> means an owner of
			 property, a lessee of property, or a community.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H3EDD2C9E927E4D2190BF7887C5AF4889"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Letter of map
			 amendment</header><text>The term <term>letter of map amendment</term> means a
			 letter of map amendment as described in part 70 of title 44, Code of Federal
			 Regulations.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H4ED705E48CB94D0C866B91B5A5B5088C"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Authorization of
			 appropriations</header><text>There are authorized to be appropriated to carry
			 out this section such sums as may be necessary.</text>
