<official-title>To add joining a foreign terrorist organization or engaging in or supporting hostilities against the United States or its allies to the list of acts for which United States nationals would lose their nationality.</official-title>

<section id="HC9509F16D42B47178D315456D1675A04" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Terrorist Expatriation Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H846669AA07614295AC0E99A52F5404F9" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Loss of nationality</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 349 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1481) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H6D0E1A8330B840A1A1A453B46B80A77F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a)—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H3D9B7016F12044FA9CA4C98DAB605A88"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in each of paragraphs (1) through (6), by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H6D7AC73578914A1B8BFA063C2103AC80"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph (7), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; or</quote>; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HA5692179E6484ED392C1A655AFCE36BF"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HAEE51027DBC0405191FA90D7FB992375"><enum>(A)</enum><text>providing material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H326179016E4B4F419A53F2837F2DA810" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities against the United States; or</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H5C845A4A6B2E46EEAE3D39A4488DE053" indent="up1"><enum>(C)</enum><text>engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities against any country or armed force that is—</text> 
<clause id="H8F8219DB642348059700CA19766EE0A2"><enum>(i)</enum><text>directly engaged along with the United States in hostilities engaged in by the United States; or</text></clause> 
<clause id="HFB7C978EFF7F44309C2E6D1729A5D1D1"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>providing direct operational support to the United States in hostilities engaged in by the United States.</text></clause></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H630CCC8B3BA941649057EF3EE5CD09CF"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subsection id="HCB31C8DFBA5146519C28F53ABA94D6AB"><enum>(c)</enum><text>For purposes of this section—</text> 
<paragraph id="H523F3742555C4C0D8CCA3DEFABE1A2FF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the term <term>foreign terrorist organization</term> means an organization so designated by the Secretary pursuant to section 219(a);</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H44A640E814F94038902EE980CED841BF"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the term <term>hostilities</term> means any conflict subject to the laws of war; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HAA2FD4D0CEC645FDAA681062B1B660EB"><enum>(3)</enum><text>the term <term>material support or resources</term> has the meaning given the term in section 2339A of title 18, United States Code.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section>
