<section id="HE0E4231701BF43CFAF3EE964D848B9EB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>North Country National Scenic Trail Route Adjustment Act of 2009</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H42F85A1305644846BA9A60541E4190F7"><enum>2.</enum><header>Route reauthorization</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5(a)(8) of the National Trails System Act (16 U.S.C. 1244(a)(8)) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HEC7244E2CD0843EAAA60CA2445B87AD1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking “thirty-two hundred miles” and inserting “4,600 miles”; and </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H7EC638BD1157482DBC832381FC8013D8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>‘Proposed North Country Trail</quote> and all that follows through “June 1975.” and inserting <quote>‘North Country National Scenic Trail, Authorized Route’, dated February 16, 2005, and numbered 649/80,002.</quote>.</text></paragraph></section> 
<section id="HC469C082104545FC9B6602175EBBDA7C"><enum>3.</enum><header>Land acquisition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Neither the Secretary of Agriculture nor the Secretary of the Interior may acquire for the North Country National Scenic Trail land that was obtained through condemnation by a State or local government.</text></section> 
<section id="HDBF6C10AEF8349588CF5FF54091E39F8"><enum>4.</enum><header>Energy</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Nothing in the Act or the amendments made by this Act shall prohibit or hinder the development, production, conveyance, or transmission of energy.</text></section>
