		<official-title>To amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to
		  apply the ban on contributions and expenditures by foreign nationals to
		  domestic corporations which are owned or controlled by foreign
		  principals.</official-title>

		<section id="H6309063D8CE1434D8FD575F3482FA9E2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short Title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote>Prohibiting Foreign Influence in American Elections Act</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H5644AC9220954F52B589A90B71A081FA"><enum>2.</enum><header>Application of
			 Ban on Contributions and Expenditures by Foreign Nationals to
			 Foreign-Controlled Domestic Corporations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 319(b) of the Federal Election
			 Campaign Act of 1971 (2 U.S.C. 441e(b)) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H9DC62D7B14E84160917003237F560F34"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>or</quote> at the end of paragraph (1);</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HB806FDB75BB54BFCB8ABBF7F88B831B2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the
			 period at the end of paragraph (2) and inserting <quote>; or</quote>;
			 and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HE5DD14109E8B4D59869233F80F491EA8"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new paragraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H274C18186C4342B694514EFAB091A682" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="H693B9925D7644C75BEA72D961838D231"><enum>(3)</enum><text>a corporation
				(other than a foreign principal, as so defined) which is a subsidiary of a
				foreign principal, or with respect to which—</text>
						<subparagraph id="H2A8E931CFABE4EE2B262D2152AAE48EF"><enum>(A)</enum><text>one or more
				foreign principals serves on the board of directors,</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA92B8AF29C8541FD97A86C49076D7C40"><enum>(B)</enum><text>one or more
				foreign principals directly or indirectly has an ownership interest, or</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H0105152FC299402593278ED55C143967"><enum>(C)</enum><text>one or more
				foreign principals directly or indirectly holds debt or other
				obligations.</text>
