		<section id="H792B1BFAC61C4B409EFC095DD4BEA2DB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Bankruptcy Judgeship Act of
			 2010</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H020146483CFB40FCBB154AE407D8E95D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Additional
			 permanent offices of bankruptcy judges</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 152(a)(2) of title 28, United States
			 Code, is amended—</text>

			 relating to the eastern and western districts of Arkansas by striking
			 <quote>3</quote> and inserting <quote>4</quote>;</text>

			 certain temporary offices of bankruptcy judges to permanent offices</header>
			<subsection id="HCC96247AE0F54579A8D421C77A544A02"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Conversion of
			 certain temporary offices established by Public Law 109–8</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The temporary offices of bankruptcy judges
			 established by section 1223(b)(1) of Public Law 109–8 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/28/152">28 U.S.C. 152</external-xref> note) for the
			 following districts are hereby converted so as to be included in the permanent
			 offices of bankruptcy judges that are added by the amendments made by section 2
			 with respect to the corresponding districts:</text>
				<paragraph id="H41F03881C91043DA84164B59A84914D0"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The eastern
			 district of California.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HB18987FE485F449C91AD9346E9A574DE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The district of
			 Delaware.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H12238B3E37BD43528CE46E0630945FA5"><enum>(3)</enum><text>The southern
			 district of Florida.</text>

				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H1F84841CEABD410F811F3DE951FAB2EA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conversion of
			 certain temporary offices established by Public Law 102–361</header><text>The
			 temporary offices of bankruptcy judges established by section 3(a) of Public
			 Law 102–361 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/28/152">28
			 U.S.C. 152</external-xref> note) for the following districts are hereby
			 converted so as to be included in the permanent offices of bankruptcy judges
			 that are added by the amendments made by section 2 with respect to the
			 corresponding districts:</text>

			 Delaware.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HFCDEB6DF927B4BDEBC6918F52D0E90B5"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The district of
			 New Hampshire.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H2C07A40975F0449A9E28835823278B63"><enum>(3)</enum><text>The eastern
			 district of Tennessee.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section><section id="HAA2C43625944408298B89127B12F5E16"><enum>4.</enum><header>Extension of
			 certain temporary offices of bankruptcy judges established by Public Law
			 109–8</header>
			<subsection id="HBBD6933C8D6C42C5AE43EC1520F0A619"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Extensions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The temporary offices of bankruptcy judges
			 established for the eastern district of Pennsylvania and the middle district of
			 North Carolina by section 1223(b)(1) of Public Law 109–8 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/28/152">28 U.S.C. 152</external-xref> note)
			 are extended until the 1st vacancy occurring in the office of a bankruptcy
			 judge in the respective district resulting from the death, retirement,
			 resignation, or removal of a bankruptcy judge and occurring 5 years or more
			 after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H0C8D7718C65F402382D52EFD9352D718"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Applicability of
			 other provisions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Except as
			 provided in subsection (a), all other provisions of section 1223(b) of Public
			 Law 109–8 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/28/152">28 U.S.C.
			 152</external-xref> note) remain applicable to the temporary offices of
			 bankruptcy judges referred to in subsection (a).</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="HB3DE8ADA317E4CB495439E671ADF7FB7"><enum>5.</enum><header>Paygo
			 offset</header>

			 filing fees</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1930(a)
			 of title 28, United States Code, is amended—</text>

			 dates</header>
			<subsection id="H9BDFCE056CF34D62B0A4CB367AD60013"><enum>(a)</enum><header>General
			 effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Except as
			 provided in subsection (b), this Act and the amendments made by this Act shall
			 take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HAB1F623856504D2BAD59D339EBB449D9"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Special
			 effective date</header><text>The amendments made by section 5 shall take effect
			 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
