		<official-title>To create and extend certain temporary district court
		  judgeships.</official-title>

		<section id="HB9F24E83DE9A4C27A14624C06D45F6C1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Temporary judgeships for
			 district courts</header>
			<subsection id="HC7A120295CDF4EF087D7034203B0460E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Additional
			 temporary judgeships</header>
				<paragraph id="H62A9990AB0CE445285A8E4922FBAC7E2"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>The President shall appoint, by and with the advice and
			 consent of the Senate—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HF2559055556F49E6A237465C4FF631A8"><enum>(A)</enum><text>1 additional
			 district judge for the eastern district of California; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H8E4F956ECC9E4701BBFA38726F83B3F8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>1 additional
			 district judge for the district of Nebraska.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HB2A14EA3639F4680BF2DBC61D2D1E207"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Vacancies not
			 filled</header><text>The first vacancy in the office of district judge in each
			 of the judicial districts named in this subsection, occurring 10 years or more
			 after the confirmation date of the judge named to fill the temporary district
			 judgeship created in the applicable judicial district by this subsection, shall
			 not be filled.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H6766880EC3DB4BC187A4C7C7AD8664F9"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Extension of
			 certain temporary judgeships</header><text>Section 203(c) of the Judicial
			 Improvements Act of 1990 (Public Law 101–650; 28 U.S.C. 133 note) is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H2999B4B876F44DA99CE5BB171B0B6CA4"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the third
			 sentence (relating to the district of Kansas), by striking <quote>18
			 years</quote> and inserting <quote>26 years</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HD1702A39418943EA9BFAE7D5A1BDD490"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in the sixth
			 sentence (relating to the northern district of Ohio), by striking <quote>18
			 years</quote> and inserting <quote>25 years</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H9C2F8912110D423CAF8B1D5E864D0536"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in the seventh
			 sentence (relating to the district of Hawaii), by striking <quote>15
			 years</quote> and inserting <quote>20 years</quote>.</text>
