		<section id="H56599C10DEB042EB8F2952D615152F6C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Safe Routes to High Schools
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H30549CE104DE41A09ADC1B8508940128"><enum>2.</enum><header>Expansion of safe
			 routes to school program</header>
			<subsection id="HCD8D8279DFCB451587DE4CCCC4678823"><enum>(a)</enum><header>High schools
			 students included</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section
			 1404(a) of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity
			 Act: A Legacy for Users is amended by striking <quote>in primary and middle
			 schools</quote> and inserting the following: <quote>and adolescents in primary,
			 middle, and high schools</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H8EECA7066F8D4FD79D0CB7EE90D64DF3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Purposes</header>
				<paragraph id="H1BEC47481AF9486A8123BB86145ED484"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Sections 1404(b)(1) of such Act is amended by inserting
			 <quote>and adolescents</quote> after <quote>children</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HE346C38E157E4B019CB8428A990B6A42"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Safety</header><text>Section
			 1404(b)(2) of such Act is amended by inserting <quote>and throughout
			 adolescence</quote> after <quote>early age</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HBC1FAAA4ABDC40F8A296D7DF70D6402B"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Apportionment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1404(c)(1) is amended in
			 subparagraphs (A) and (B) by striking <quote>and middle schools</quote> and
			 inserting <quote>, middle, and high schools</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H1E2D54F44E62409B83E18F2855D3D25B"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Eligible
			 projects and activities</header><text>Section 1404(f) of such Act is amended by
			 adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7F6605AE13B644CA86D4B8A9EE3C9738" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="HF787E98B88EC4834824AA9CBA40692F7"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Preference</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">From the amounts apportioned to a State
				under this section, the State shall give priority to projects for primary and
				middle schools and to projects that propose to serve a combination of at least
				one primary, middle, and high school within the same school
				district.</text>
					</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H5338809C1806435F9010DDD2A01C8EAD"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>Section
			 1404(k)(2) of such Act is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H50A3F89E8DE44030B8D86CAFFAAEF4F9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the heading by
			 striking <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC">and
			 middle</header-in-text></quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC">, middle, and high
			 schools</header-in-text></quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HAFF62DAAE1974D26B3846324B2ACD295"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in the text by
			 striking <quote>and middle</quote> and inserting <quote>, middle, and high
			 schools</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H9417F3C2AAEA41199774083825C50A72"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>eighth</quote> and inserting <quote>twelfth</quote>.</text>
