		<section commented="no" id="H21FE5C262A5D467C944F31E4CE90C032" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Helping Heroes Keep Their Homes Act of
			 2010</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H072BEAB53B1548369C9C13545626C8BF"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of
			 enhanced protections for servicemembers relating to mortgages and mortgage
			 foreclosure under Servicemembers Civil Relief Act</header>
			<subsection id="H0101D807F237470DA61844ED77CC9D98"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Extension</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (2) of section 2203(c) of the
			 Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/110/289">Public Law
			 110–289</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HA9A4D42C66774C20B6718C22CD8F231F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>December 31, 2010</quote> and inserting <quote>December 31,
			 2015</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H9BAC987FD7714AF292891AD71371F3A0"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>January 1, 2011</quote> and inserting <quote>January 1,
			 2016</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H9E013DF7D3C8495782D4C7CE2A2A55AF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Protection for
			 surviving spouse</header>
				<paragraph id="HF26B5DF29DAD42FF8EC722A454160491"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 303 of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act
			 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc-appendix" parsable-cite="usc-appendix/50/533">50
			 U.S.C. App. 533</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following
			 new subsection:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HDEDCFFBADAE6479488909BFDF137829D" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="HC3E5245C06124C4E9B5D04EBF594B371"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Protection for
				surviving spouse</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">With respect
				to a servicemember who dies while in military service and whose death is
				service-connected, this section shall apply to the surviving spouse of the
				servicemember if such spouse is the successor in interest to property covered
				under subsection
				(a).</text>
						</subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HB1048B9CDCA8402AB608F5B7827AB4B2"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>Subsection (e) of section 303 of such Act, as added by
			 paragraph (1), shall apply to a surviving spouse of a servicemember whose death
			 is on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
