		<section id="HC3C041DF8443491AAD003266643B98F2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Let’s Re-Up the Troops-to-Cops Program
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H5BBE8A44FF78437A82B4C639D7F5F33E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Authorization of
			 Troops-to-Cops program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section
			 1701(b) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C.
			 3796dd(b)) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H8A78C3F33435444E8E0B30338776ACB3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>The purposes for which</quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="OLC"><enum-in-header>(1) </enum-in-header>In
			 general.—</header-in-text>The purposes for which</quote> with appropriate
			 indentation; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H285BA908A9B74588A9DB6431D46C2EF9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new paragraph:</text>

					<paragraph id="HA37362A330D84394AB61D53612EB9ACD"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Troops-to-Cops
				Program</header>
						<subparagraph id="HAEA71B47B6744B84B8AC62BEDB88ECC9"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>For grants made during the 3-year period beginning on
				January 1, 2010, in addition to the purposes described in paragraph (1), grants
				made under subsection (a) may be used to hire former members of the Armed
				Forces (and to pay the full salary of such former members) to serve as career
				law enforcement officers for deployment in community-oriented policing,
				particularly in communities that are adversely affected by a recent military
				base closing.</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H28EB4770F46F4AC880EC6D196F37ADD5"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Definition</header><text>In
				this paragraph, <quote>former member of the Armed Forces</quote> means a member
				of the Armed Forces of the United States who has been honorably discharged from
				the Armed Forces of the United
				States.</text>
