		<section id="H41E73B5946D04EABA71E631C9491DA75" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Permanent resident status for
			 Benita Veliz-Castillo</header>
			<subsection id="H0C591E1350264B980031CE88A9BD11F0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 General</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding
			 subsections (a) and (b) of section 201 of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name>, Benita
			 Veliz-Castillo shall be eligible for issuance of an immigrant visa or for
			 adjustment of status to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent
			 residence upon filing an application for issuance of an immigrant visa under
			 section 204 of such Act or for adjustment of status to lawful permanent
			 resident.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HF36CE3C1D1494C168BE47D009B620075"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Adjustment of
			 Status</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If Benita
			 Veliz-Castillo enters the United States before the filing deadline specified in
			 subsection (c), she shall be considered to have entered and remained lawfully
			 and shall, if otherwise eligible, be eligible for adjustment of status under
			 section 245 of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality
			 Act</act-name> as of the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H64DBF5231B2F4FAD8DDB3DBBB112D39F"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Deadline for
			 Application and Payment of Fees</header><text>Subsections (a) and (b) shall
			 apply only if the application for issuance of an immigrant visa or the
			 application for adjustment of status is filed with appropriate fees within 2
			 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H60C25789F1D54D0FB164A483696CD8DB"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Reduction of
			 Immigrant Visa Number</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Upon
			 the granting of an immigrant visa or permanent residence to Benita
			 Veliz-Castillo, the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper officer to
			 reduce by 1, during the current or next following fiscal year, the total number
			 of immigrant visas that are made available to natives of the country of the
			 alien’s birth under section 203(a) of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> or, if
			 applicable, the total number of immigrant visas that are made available to
			 natives of the country of the alien’s birth under section 202(e) of such
			 Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H8D9DC607E42D46529D7CA500A3D76711"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Denial of
			 Preferential Immigration Treatment for Certain Relatives</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The natural parents, brothers, and sisters
			 of Benita Veliz-Castillo shall not, by virtue of such relationship, be accorded
			 any right, privilege, or status under the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name>.</text>
