<official-title display="yes">To amend the Hydrographic Services Improvement Act of 1998 to authorize funds to acquire hydrographic data and provide hydrographic services specific to the Arctic for safe navigation, delineating the United States extended continental shelf, and the monitoring and description of coastal changes.</official-title>

<section id="H77B90384CBA447609E366527C198B210" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 306 of the Hydrographic Services Improvement Act of 1998 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/33/892d">33 U.S.C. 892d</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H3135B08C5A844F3798A03DDE95147A2D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by inserting before the text the following: <quote>(a) <header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">In general.—</header-in-text></quote>; and</text> </paragraph>
<paragraph id="H2615F63766DC478B966ACA89533FFACA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H35BD61AD88B44F2589BFA754D3BA546B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Arctic programs</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Of the amount authorized for each of fiscal years 2011 and 2012—</text> 
<paragraph id="HAFE082D44FDB48F0A78056194290304C"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">$5,000,000 is authorized for use to acquire hydrographic data, provide hydrographic services, conduct coastal change analyses necessary to ensure safe navigation, and improve the management of coastal change in the Arctic; and</text> </paragraph>
<paragraph id="HF3486B85BEA441B899B8343365D4E11C"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">$2,000,000 is authorized for use to acquire hydrographic data and provide hydrographic services in the Arctic necessary to delineate the United States extended Continental Shelf.</text> </paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section>
