		<official-title>To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to exempt
		  elementary and secondary schools from the fee imposed on employers filing
		  petitions with respect to non-immigration workers under the H–1B

		<section id="ID86C87C1DDCA8462DA300A4BA24631B39" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Exemption from filing fees
			 for schools</header>
			<subsection id="IDC2A8D8E3270146FFBF22959E5CF17FE4"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 214(c)(9)(A) of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> (8 U.S.C.
			 1184(c)(9)(A)) is amended by inserting <quote>an employer that is a public or
			 private elementary or secondary school and</quote> after
			 <quote>(excluding</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="IDE231D142B5CE42A487ADE19B41A8B256"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Applicability</header><text>The
			 amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date of the enactment
			 of this Act and shall apply to petitions filed under section 214(c)(1) of the
			 <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> on or
			 after such date and before October 1, 2001.</text>
