<official-title>To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to acquire a parcel of land adjacent to Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, South Carolina.</official-title>

<section id="H29CF04C1FD5143B0B50069D7A2480941" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Acquisition of land adjacent to Beaufort National Cemetery</header>
<subsection id="HDF22BCF1AC0F42D0B98B42C51F14215E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authority To purchase</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subject to the availability of appropriations for such purpose, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall acquire, in accordance with <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/38/24">chapter 24</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, the parcel of land described in subsection (b) to be used for the expansion of the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, South Carolina.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H60DF0C50142341B9B3290572ACFB4419"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Parcel described</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The parcel of land described in this subsection is a parcel of land consisting of approximately 4.9 acres located on 17th Street in Beaufort, South Carolina, as depicted on tax map number 120–1–238 dated May 4, 1998. </text></subsection>
<subsection id="HD5F63DCC3AB2485D8B18A96806A808EB"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Authority To accept donation of parcel of land</header>
<paragraph id="HCE99A8361365445AB974BEED40126F"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Authority</header><text>The Secretary of Veterans Affairs may accept on behalf of the United States the gift of the parcel of land described in subsection (b). The Secretary shall have administrative jurisdiction over such parcel, and shall use such parcel to expand the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, South Carolina.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HA60EB3A1DAFB40C9B1F4DB9D93A81702"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Income tax treatment of gift</header><text>For purposes of Federal income, estate, and gift taxes, the land accepted under paragraph (1) shall be considered as a gift to the United States.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H35BA3E8173F0490B9D1436E9C4105F39"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Report to Congress</header><text>As soon as practicable after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall submit to Congress a report on the acquisition of the parcel of land described in subsection (b).</text></subsection></section>
