		<official-title>To amend title 10, United States Code, to authorize a
		  member of the Armed Forces to designate anyone as the person authorized to
		  direct disposition of the remains of the member if the member dies while on
		  active duty.</official-title>

		<section id="H26B1A1D4C6B0478C9DC6CF7C2DAAFFB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Honor the Written Intent of our
			 Soldier Heroes Act</short-title></quote> or <quote><short-title>Honor the WISH Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H93713143734E4A50B8F4A6DF3090049"><enum>2.</enum><header>Designation of
			 persons authorized to direct disposition of remains of members of the Armed
			 Forces</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1482(c) of
			 title 10, United States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H969ADD9E5C12475CB7D0CF167E1C2431"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>Only the</quote> in the matter preceding paragraph (1) and inserting
			 <quote>The</quote>;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H4A5C77B666E54C7FBFA9A49DEC7D64CC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 paragraphs (1) through (4) as paragraphs (2) through (5), respectively;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H206DF23CF01545EEA94637B28070F0DB"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in paragraph (5),
			 as so redesignated, by striking <quote>clauses (1)–(3)</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>paragraphs (1) through (4)</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HDC9535D72E3141C2B4F1CD449327F7F4"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by inserting
			 before paragraph (2), as so redesignated, the following new paragraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE6343BDFDB5C4F3D8335CAEBBF19B7A" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="H06C43786DD784545927000847B90A9FA"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The person identified by the decedent on
				the record of emergency data maintained by the Secretary concerned (DD Form 93
				or any successor to that form), as the Person Authorized to Direct Disposition
				(PADD), regardless of the relationship of the designee to the
				decedent.</text>
