<section id="H3C97331E27084B09B08D170DF8F8582A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Statutory Time-Periods Technical Amendments Act of 2009</short-title></quote>.</text> </section> 
<section id="HEDA4210F3C3646BABC4DAAFD601CB8EB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendments related to title 11, United States Code</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Title 11, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HF01173F316544ED3AC92F8E4C0C00A60"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in section 109(h)(3)(A)(ii), by striking <quote>5-day</quote> and inserting <quote>7-day</quote>;</text> </paragraph>

<paragraph id="H06997B54C4864DDF87478CA5F58B7B69"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in section 7(b), by striking <quote>ten days</quote> and inserting <quote>fourteen days</quote>;</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H27F768AA161E4475AF808F7A48F179B2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section 7(b)(1), by inserting after <quote>adjournment of the trial,</quote> the following: <quote>excluding intermediate weekends and holidays,</quote>; and</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H6F50B1AEF22D424C8B6CE40C70AEFE20"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in section 7(b)(3), by inserting after <quote>argument on appeal,</quote> the following: <quote>excluding intermediate weekends and holidays,</quote>.</text> </paragraph></section> 
<section id="H6459293414F34FC09B1F0A4D54A1713F"><enum>5.</enum><header>Amendment related to the Controlled Substances Act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 413(e)(2) of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 853(e)(2)) is amended by striking <quote>ten days</quote> and inserting <quote>fourteen days</quote>.</text> </section>

<paragraph id="H4A5E92DA9EEB4A9F91705FCCD5E36C73"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in section 636(b)(1), by striking <quote>ten days</quote> and inserting <quote>fourteen days</quote>;</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HF7693B00634945B18652C08F9BFFD25D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in section 1453(c)(1), by striking <quote>not less than 7 days</quote> and inserting <quote>not more than 10 days</quote>; and</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H478140A6AF374101A4FA4FE7D22F1ED3"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in section 2107(c), by striking <quote>7 days</quote> and inserting <quote>14 days</quote>.</text> </paragraph></section> 
<section id="H09AB9E828E8442428E618C3FA98EF86D"><enum>7.</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The amendments made by this Act shall take effect on December 1, 2009.</text> </section>
