<section id="HD966C63D94F743018986D853C54889AC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Elimination of statute of limitations on award of congressional medal of honor</header>
<subsection id="HA25821269073490D868B1EEA3D83BD5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Army</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 3744 of title 10, United States Code, is amended—</text>
<paragraph id="H929D29255EF244EC9351C202665B03"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (b), by striking <quote>medal of honor,</quote>;</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HD8C863B055204E00A9101041C9F88184"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (d), by striking <quote>medal of honor,</quote>; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H16BC7AF59D364A53002C26FECA7EEF70"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H0F2DA784065C47A7BF2358375E89227D"><enum>(e)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">No medal of honor or device in place thereof may be awarded to a person unless it appears from records of the Department of the Army that the person is entitled to the award.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H980375C08DA743B691D83B570065FDFF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Navy and Marine Corps</header>
<paragraph id="HA3F073DB061A492C91C09D172BA3A267"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Limitations of time</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 6248 of such title is amended—</text>
<subparagraph id="H789548089B0D4EC886171BEAECB1DD00"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (a), by striking <quote>medal of honor,</quote>; and</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="H1DF972294466450BB8602C033700D07"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (b), by striking <quote>medal of honor,</quote>.</text></subparagraph></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H752EB0B6484844ACA41081D7F62DF88"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Posthumous awards</header><text>Section 6250 of such title is amended—</text>
<subparagraph id="H75AFA39FCE294342BD93B074660000B6"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by inserting <quote>(a) <header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Award authorized; time limitation</header-in-text>.—</quote> before <quote>If</quote>; and</text></subparagraph>
<subparagraph id="H95804D56E08146BBA500E4A6E2A87527"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H921051F0894D494DBB982DAB04AD77B7"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exception for medal of honor</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The time limitation specified in subsection (a) does not apply in the case of the posthumous award of the medal of honor.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H0BD8AFD287CA4DE88CCD236E09C881D" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Air Force</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 8744 of such title is amended—</text>
<paragraph id="H9E7D69A9D25D446188D2308E311BB4E4"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (b), by striking <quote>medal of honor,</quote>;</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H1411D6F7F67E454E0075E4D800864D2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (d), by striking <quote>medal of honor,</quote>; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H91CA2040321D4E369DB1C4709E1B2C8E"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>
