		<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow Head
		  Start teachers the same above-the-line deduction for supplies as is allowed to
		  elementary and secondary school teachers.</official-title>

		<section id="H94286651632D4A01B3CE3CC545EF0E51" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Head start teachers allowed
			 above-the-line deduction for supplies</header>
			<subsection id="H6E19D8246ED040339661C8E269E700EF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (1) of
			 section 62(d) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (defining eligible educator)
			 is amended by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H335EF8279BE0476FA773D642A21A09BD" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="H9ADD7638659D48D1B1E13063DEBC0C69"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Head start
				teachers</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term
				<term>eligible education</term> includes, with respect to any taxable year, an
				individual who is a teacher or aide under a Head Start program operating under
				the Head Start Act (42 U.S.C. 9831 et seq.) for at least 700 hours during a
				school
				year.</text>
					</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H4AE8FAEE4DD447E8BBDB3C24107F33AA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to taxable
			 years ending after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
