		<official-title display="yes">To authorize the Secretary of the Interior
		  to provide an annual grant to facilitate an iron working training program for
		  Native Americans.</official-title>

		<section id="H393F6B0FEC914E4C9045BEE868B763E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Iron working training program
			 for native americans</header>
			<subsection id="HA5416D12A56842AFB70068579EF1D415"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 General</header><text>To the extent funds are made available for this purpose,
			 the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Bureau of Indian Affairs,
			 shall annually
			 <deleted-phrase committee-id="SLIA00" reported-display-style="strikethrough">provide a grant to an eligible
			 entity</deleted-phrase><added-phrase committee-id="SLIA00" reported-display-style="italic"> provide grants to federally recognized Indian
			 tribes (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education
			 Assistance Act (25 U.S.C. 450b)), tribal colleges and universities, and other
			 eligible entities</added-phrase> to provide an iron working training program
			 for members of federally recognized Indian tribes. An
			 <deleted-phrase committee-id="SLIA00" reported-display-style="strikethrough">eligible</deleted-phrase> entity that
			 receives a grant under this section shall provide a program that meets the
			 requirements of subsection (b) and may require such other criteria of the
			 program and participants of the program as the
			 <deleted-phrase committee-id="SLIA00" reported-display-style="strikethrough">eligible</deleted-phrase> entity
			 considers appropriate to further the goals of the program.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H063B5EDE23AB40C182D5F96D649F1358"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Requirements</header><text>A
			 program funded by a grant under this section shall—</text>
				<paragraph id="HA0706BDEECBB4D5BA6DCEA72A58000BB"><enum>(1)</enum><text>provide
			 specialized training in iron working skills to adult members of federally
			 recognized Indian tribes;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H13DB0224F5404617AB575B07FAF15C42"><enum>(2)</enum><text>provide classroom
			 and on-the-job training; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HB13960F5BBFA4580A2BC6BEAEB7C5622"><enum>(3)</enum><text>facilitate job
			 placement for participants upon successful completion of the requirements of
			 the program.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection changed="deleted" committee-id="SLIA00" id="H16F729C2E76D4B03BA00F469BC5F664C" reported-display-style="strikethrough"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Eligible
			 Entity</header><text>To be eligible for a grant under this section, an entity
			 shall—</text>
				<paragraph id="H3D4F81FB137A42D48CF5B0D4E01DACF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>have proven
			 experience in providing successful iron working training programs to Native
			 American populations; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H28CE372FC6C74C5BA1F1D5BCBEE9146"><enum>(2)</enum><text>have the
			 facilities necessary to carry out such a program with a grant provided under
			 this section.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection changed="added" committee-id="SLIA00" id="idF57D46F087A04F45A20856559AD5FF00" reported-display-style="italic"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In
			 this section:</text>
				<paragraph id="id0517F6B22E524B339CF197EC29B57C52"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Other eligible
			 entity</header><text>The term <term>other eligible entity</term> means an
			 entity that—</text>
					<subparagraph id="IDc19f782317b34ec1baa4b4bfb36ea93b"><enum>(A)</enum><text>has proven experience in
			 providing successful iron working training programs to Native American
			 populations; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID28dc5ad617604716aa6105ccdcf64eb3"><enum>(B)</enum><text>has the facilities
			 necessary to carry out such a program with a grant provided under this
			 section.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id2709B17EE22E448DABCAD8A3E8A4ADBD"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Tribal college or
			 university</header><text>The term <term>tribal college or university</term>
			 means an institution of higher education that is formally controlled, or has
			 been formally sanctioned or chartered, by the governing body of 1 or more
			 Indian tribes.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
