		<whereas><text>Whereas the number of elderly and disabled citizens of the
			 United States is increasing dramatically;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas assisted living is a long-term care service that
			 fosters choice, dignity, independence, and autonomy in the elderly and disabled
			 across the United States;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the National Center for Assisted Living created
			 National Assisted Living Week;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the theme of National Assisted Living Week 2008 is
			 <quote>Filling Life with Love</quote>; and</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas this theme highlights the privilege, value, and
			 responsibility of passing the legacies of the lives of the elderly and disabled
			 of the United States down through the generations that care for and love them:
			 Now, therefore, be it</text>

	<resolution-body>
		<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="S1" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text>That the Senate—</text>
			<paragraph id="ID758e295d4df1401fb85e6ad94483eafc"><enum>(1)</enum><text>designates the
			 week beginning September 8, 2008, as <quote>National Assisted Living
			 Week</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="idF53359C45A794AB7972852DDB9491F27"><enum>(2)</enum><text>urges all people
			 of the United States—</text>
				<subparagraph id="id9A976FDFC3644FD0953A20190E89B8B0"><enum>(A)</enum><text>to visit friends
			 and loved ones who reside at assisted living facilities; and</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id6D56342F19104EFF922FB989DBAEE639"><enum>(B)</enum><text>to learn more
			 about assisted living services, including how assisted living services benefit
			 communities in the United States.</text>
