		<official-title display="yes">Proposing an amendment to the Constitution
		  of the United States relating to United States citizenship.</official-title>

	<resolution-body display-resolving-clause="yes-display-resolving-clause" style="constitutional-amendment">
		<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="S1" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text>That the following article is
			 proposed as an amendment to the Constitution of the United States, which shall
			 be valid to all intents and purposes as part of the Constitution when ratified
			 by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years
			 after the date of its submission for ratification by the Congress:</text>

			 —</enum>
					<section commented="no" id="id5A07EBDB162C4D61A2981402B343B6FF" section-type="undesignated-section"><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A
				person born in the United States shall not be a citizen of the United States
				unless—</text>
						<paragraph commented="no" id="id76DEAF7315D5420299E49B14884EBEB3"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">one parent of the person is a citizen of
				the United States;</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" id="id592903E8D5704482BE52728029C39791"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">one parent of the person is an alien
				lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States who resides in
				the United States;</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" id="id4DB093FB1095484E820ACA2CFB2511F4"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">one parent of the person is an alien
				performing active service in the Armed Forces of the United States; or</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" id="idCB4230872A5F4FE99F6F6FEFB0280883"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the person is naturalized in accordance
				with the laws of the United
				States.</text>
