		<official-title display="yes">To amend <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/1091">section 1091</external-xref> of title 18, United
		  States Code, to allow the prosecution of genocide in appropriate
		  circumstances.</official-title>

		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Genocide Accountability Act of
			 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3D45485952094552B8E14E711C601A64" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Genocide</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/1091">Section 1091</external-xref> of title 18, United States
			 Code, is amended by striking subsection (d) and inserting the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id2ABBE697619A46039E629147A3CE273D" style="OLC">
				<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID0fa935f8b1be4a04b80aa8c0e5fe5f8c"><enum>(d)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Required circumstance for
				offenses</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The circumstance
				referred to in subsections (a) and (c) is that—</text>
					<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID4b9f3d6e31874e23a8314fba3fec5f31"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the offense is committed in whole or in
				part within the United States;</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID99355d8f24244284b7f011f488836d9f"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the alleged offender is a national of the
				United States (as that term is defined in section 101 of the Immigration and
				Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101</external-xref>));</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID2385dadb27cf46fe92dc5f91cc97979a"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the alleged offender is an alien lawfully
				admitted for permanent residence in the United States (as that term is defined
				in section 101 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101</external-xref>));</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID47cf2a9f2ac64fb4af5db885b3130e6c"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the alleged offender is a stateless person
				whose habitual residence is in the United States; or</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID45eff12131c149e4bc266cb47fd8321a"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">after the conduct required for the offense
				occurs, the alleged offender is brought into, or found in, the United States,
				even if that conduct occurred outside the United
				States.</text>
					</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
