		<section id="id993A23E1A83A421A8585C6FD8163E824" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition on use of funds
			 for military operations in Iran</header>
			<subsection id="idDD88A8465C5A4A2C8E5DC1608F4A049C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text>Notwithstanding
			 any other provision of law, no funds appropriated or otherwise made available
			 by any Act, including any Act enacted after the date of the enactment of this
			 Act, may be obligated or expended for military operations or activities within
			 or above the territory of Iran, or within the territorial waters of Iran,
			 except pursuant to a specific authorization of Congress enacted in a statute
			 enacted after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="idA92808A771024961A2EA121472CC75FE"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exceptions</header><text>The
			 prohibition in subsection (a) shall not apply with respect to military
			 operations or activities as follows:</text>
				<paragraph id="idC3825FD59B594B4682B096796E5E6164"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Military
			 operations or activities to directly repel an attack launched from within the
			 territory of Iran.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="id8330E3FA8871420FAA828B72B0F59D73"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Military
			 operations or activities to directly thwart an imminent attack to be launched
			 from within the territory of Iran.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="id58E6ABCC31854E928D20B0B4603B99A0"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Military
			 operations or activities in hot pursuit of forces engaged outside the territory
			 of Iran who thereafter enter into Iran.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="id515BA473C94547F2AC229F4B6CB1353C"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Military
			 operations or activities connected with the intelligence or
			 intelligence-related activities of the United States Government.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id2A9F089084C34DD1BDF1B88D5CFCD5AD"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not
			 later than 24 hours after determining to utilize funds referred to in
			 subsection (a) for purposes of a military operation described in subsection
			 (b), the President shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a
			 report on the determination, including a justification for the
			 determination.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="idDC0F2F47A99942CAB12F904DE64EE7BA"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Appropriate
			 committees of Congress defined</header><text>In this section, the term
			 <term>appropriate committees of Congress</term> means—</text>
				<paragraph id="idFAF4ED53DD0743FB8886DA9F37C312A6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the Committees on
			 Armed Services and Foreign Relations and the Select Committee on Intelligence
			 of the Senate; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="id304936D8BA0A4529A2CC838314640293"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the Committees on
			 Armed Services and Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Select Committee on
			 Intelligence of the House of Representatives.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
