II 110th CONGRESS 2d Session S. 3192 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES June 25, 2008 Mr. Wyden (for himself and Mr. Smith) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Indian Affairs A BILL To amend the Act of August 9, 1955, to authorize the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, the Coquille Indian Tribe, and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians of Oregon to obtain 99-year lease authority for trust land.

Subsection (a) of the first section of the Act of August 9, 1955 (25 U.S.C. 415(a)) is amended— (1)in the first sentence, by striking That (a) any restricted and inserting the following:

Notwithstanding subparagraph (A), leases ; (B)in subparagraph (B) (as designated by subparagraph (A))— (i)by striking leases of the the and inserting leases of the; (ii)by inserting land held in trust for the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, land held in trust for the Coquille Indian Tribe, and land held in trust for the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians of Oregon after Devils Lake Sioux Reservation,; and (iii)by striking which may be for a term of not to exceed ninety-nine years, and except leases and inserting the following: shall be for a term of not longer than 99 years.(C)
