		<official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to make a
		  stillborn child an insurable dependent for purposes of the Servicemembers'
		  Group Life Insurance program, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="id778441D91F0E499D989A6FE38C83C4A9" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Treatment of stillborn
			 children as insurable dependents under Servicemembers' Group Life
			 Insurance</header>
			<subsection id="IDF9709CB2803B45B5B40592EEF271A26A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Treatment</header><text>Section
			 1965 of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="ID812D33A36D89460B90A1DCCF1F7F367A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph
			 (10), by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="IDCCB4FE743D0D4D36A42E7FEAECC2021D" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph id="ID5C4D99D2D16B4852B5962AD821D0BF3F"><enum>(C)</enum><text>The member's
				stillborn natural child.</text>
						</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="IDB960DC2AA2F54869A58D38413A726E46"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new paragraph:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID87C1F28DB7A7455DB64451B7055BC4A9" style="OLC">
						<paragraph id="IDDC122CD7106548B2868FCF67238A8817"><enum>(11)</enum><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="IDE459E146324C4521A28C9D54CE268752"><enum>(A)</enum><text>Except as provided in
				subparagraph (B), the term <term>stillborn natural child</term> means a natural
				child—</text>
								<clause id="IDEF3D653AE6334BE2888CC00E5287FB61" indent="up1"><enum>(i)</enum><text>whose death occurs before
				expulsion, extraction, or delivery; and</text>
								</clause><clause id="IDAD7E2DD50F3A493391C3EE7560A11F9E" indent="up1"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>whose—</text>
									<subclause id="ID03DB4932E65C46A08E2B952D33B021F5"><enum>(I)</enum><text>fetal weight is greater than 500
				grams;</text>
									</subclause><subclause id="ID241D96D5C8D34D898FD25BDC104D02FC"><enum>(II)</enum><text>in the event fetal weight is unknown,
				duration in utero exceeds 22 completed weeks of gestation; or</text>
									</subclause><subclause id="ID3148FAC56B4B41099B7D06A5BB98F8F6"><enum>(III)</enum><text>in the event neither fetal weight nor
				duration in utero is known, body length (crown-to-heel) is 25 centimeters or
				more.</text>
									</subclause></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="IDCCDB5FF10EBA421891820FD18DCCBCB9" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>The term does not include any fetus or
				child extracted for purposes of an
				abortion.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ID5F7D56834BEB4A60B86BA0153931249B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text>Section 101(4)(A) of such title is amended by striking
			 <quote>section 1965(10)(B)</quote> in the matter preceding clause (i) and
			 inserting <quote>subparagraph (B) or (C) of section 1965(10)</quote>.</text>
