		<official-title>To amend title 37, United States Code, to authorize
		  travel and transportation allowances for mobilized members of the reserve
		  components of the Armed Forces on leave for suspension of training or to meet
		  minimal staffing requirements, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="idB852BEE0677344B99BDF660210CE0B96" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Travel and transportation
			 allowances for members of the reserve components of the Armed Forces on leave
			 for suspension of training or to meet minimal staffing requirements</header>
			<subsection id="idC9AF196FB0344EAF929F88FB2F5781E2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Allowances
			 authorized</header>
				<paragraph id="idF509AEF865C5471A9822D86B967EAE25"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Chapter 7 of title
			 37, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 411j the
			 following new section:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id557058B1DC3843C0AC4C11F42CE61996" style="USC">
						<section id="id0CAB27C20CDD41C883FB1A840D8C0EEC"><enum>411k.</enum><header>Travel and
				transportation allowances: travel performed by certain members of the reserve
				components of the armed forces in connection with leave for suspension of
				training or to meet minimal staffing requirements</header>
							<subsection id="idEE7F380DCCD0460CAFBBB6FB4C67BEC3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Allowance
				authorized</header><text>The Secretary concerned may reimburse or provide
				transportation to a member of a reserve component of the armed forces on active
				duty for a period of more than 30 days who is performing duty at a temporary
				duty station for travel from the member's temporary duty station to the
				member's permanent duty station in connection with authorized leave pursuant to
				a suspension of training or to meet minimal staffing requirements at the
				temporary duty station.</text>
							</subsection><subsection id="id5A690250407C4B02AF33B1D15A82A6E6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Minimum
				distance between stations</header><text>A member may be paid for or provided
				transportation under subsection (a) only as follows:</text>
								<paragraph id="id0DF8F5BC590E45028378736E431FE6B1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>In the case of a
				member who travels between a temporary duty station and permanent duty station
				by air transportation, if the distance between such stations is not less than
				300 miles.</text>
								</paragraph><paragraph id="id8106BC342C744E0C9DDCFCE3F2C17C59"><enum>(2)</enum><text>In the case of a
				member who travels between a temporary duty station and permanent duty station
				by ground transportation, if the distance between such stations is more than
				the normal commuting distance from the permanent duty station (as determined
				under the regulations prescribed under subsection (e)).</text>
								</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id850CE0049ABC47FBABA7525788E3B37C"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Minimum period
				of leave</header><text>A member may be paid for or provided transportation
				under subsection (a) only in connection with leave described in that subsection
				that is more than 96 hours in duration.</text>
							</subsection><subsection id="id4031DFFDDABD49B496645E54904A40FD"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Limitation on
				reimbursement</header><text>The amount a member may be paid under subsection
				(a) for travel may not exceed the amount that would be paid by the government
				(as determined under the regulations prescribed under subsection (e)) for the
				least expensive means of travel between the duty stations concerned.</text>
							</subsection><subsection id="id2D2B4FEA5EBF456FAFBAC49C4F4F32CE"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Regulations</header><text>The
				Secretary concerned shall prescribe regulations to carry out this section.
				Regulations prescribed by the Secretary of a military department shall be
				subject to the approval of the Secretary of
				Defense.</text>
							</subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="id6BD0FD9A1CB04D3ABA3D7DE08AB6ED74"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Clerical
			 amendment</header><text>The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 7 of
			 such title is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 411j the
			 following new item:</text>

						</toc>
						<after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id203E5F860D624A0289030CA7A845292D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on
			 the date of the enactment of this Act, and shall apply with respect to travel
			 that occurs on or after that date</text>
