		<section id="id7D0B7C2FD3584F61B8A11013812D2EFE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Modification of
			 definition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section
			 211(o)(1)(I) of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7545(o)(1)(I)) (as amended by
			 section 201 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (Public Law
			 110–140; 121 Stat. 1492)) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="idE568C12BE7874FA78C940935A9D0659E"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating clauses (v) through (vii)
			 as clauses (vi) through (viii), respectively; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="idD209A905C2194823B0889EFC7AB581E5"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking clause (iv) and inserting the
			 following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idA407B2B21E97488498EF3D730C531BA8" style="OLC">
					<clause id="IDa1d5a2a3c8f94055a407840e54dd263d"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>Post-commercial
				residue and byproducts of sawmill, paper, and wood manufacturing
				operations.</text>
					</clause><clause id="idB6B5E93C825D439099D6076415BF97DE"><enum>(v)</enum><text>Materials,
				pre-commercial thinnings, or removed exotic species that—</text>
						<subclause id="ID97ab3bbeeabc4aa1baaba9ce150d90c1"><enum>(I)</enum><text>are byproducts of
				preventive treatments (such as trees, wood, brush, thinnings, chips, and
				slash), that are removed—</text>
							<item id="ID791a4e342fb7453292e389e1e48d1d88"><enum>(aa)</enum><text>to
				reduce hazardous fuels;</text>
							</item><item id="ID7f708d92befb499fa331101dd2bbd206"><enum>(bb)</enum><text>to
				reduce or contain disease or insect infestation; or</text>
							</item><item id="IDa419d4e3bba04117bc711221a910fda8"><enum>(cc)</enum><text>to
				restore ecosystem health;</text>
							</item></subclause><subclause id="ID4d58a69247664e258d82e617d0eda921"><enum>(II)</enum><text>would not
				otherwise be used for higher-value products; and</text>
						</subclause><subclause id="ID8fd9f0262b5745469e05700b1f41f54e"><enum>(III)</enum><text>are harvested
				from National Forest System land or public lands (as defined in section 103 of
				the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (43 U.S.C. 1702)), in
				accordance with—</text>
							<item id="ID6a756290499640b1a4e635c620adef50"><enum>(aa)</enum><text>Federal and
				State law;</text>
							</item><item id="IDfe696332f76541cfaa1d9766eebbcbc9"><enum>(bb)</enum><text>applicable land
				management plans; and</text>
							</item><item id="ID571da8bf480c4ec0a40de8e1a785be64"><enum>(cc)</enum><text>the requirements
				for old-growth maintenance, restoration, and management direction of paragraphs
				(2), (3), and (4) of subsection (e) of section 102 of the Healthy Forests
				Restoration Act of 2003 (16 U.S.C. 6512) and the requirements for large-tree
				retention of subsection (f) of that
				section.</text>
