		<official-title>To clarify conditions for the interceptions of computer
		  trespass communications under the USA–PATRIOT Act.</official-title>

		<section id="IDDF4E797A2C1A42AF8AD73F7215599ACA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Computer Trespass Clarification Act of
			 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="ID7FAE62D67B854EEA8BD36450574D759E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendments to
			 title <enum-in-header>18</enum-in-header></header>
			<subsection id="ID55C74C8E27384B329001C03B8D2D8B7D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>Section
			 2510(21)(B) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by—</text>
				<paragraph id="ID481E46941B1B4F29B96F4C7973AE9C01"><enum>(1)</enum><text>inserting
			 <quote>or other</quote> after <quote>contractual</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="ID7DC1A8CF39DA418C92B9D5DC8E704D74"><enum>(2)</enum><text>striking
			 <quote>for access</quote> and inserting <quote>permitting
			 access</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="IDC15313EFF5AA4B16B77B2CCE3CEA2BEA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Interception
			 and disclosure</header><text>Section 2511(2)(i) of title 18, United States
			 Code, is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="IDFF6C7D5724AF4B23B90E36110A83B465"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in clause (I), by
			 inserting <quote>is attempting to respond to communications activity that
			 threatens the integrity or operation of such computer and requests assistance
			 to protect the rights and property of the owner or operator, and</quote> after
			 <quote>the owner or operator of the protected computer</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="IDF3E6294C66B84678ABCE96A3AD550633"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in clause (IV),
			 by inserting <quote>ceases as soon as the communications sought are obtained or
			 after 96 hours, whichever is earlier (unless an order authorizing or approving
			 the interception is obtained under this chapter) and</quote> after
			 <quote>interception</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ID8D056B8A89A1463FAF4F347ED9ABCA18"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not
			 later than 60 days after the date of enactment of this Act, and annually
			 thereafter, the Attorney General shall submit a report to the Committee on the
			 Judiciary of the Senate and the Committee on the Judiciary the House of
			 Representatives on the use of section 2511 of title 18, United States Code,
			 relating to computer trespass provisions, as amended by subsection (b), during
			 the year before the year of that report.</text>
