		<section id="ID6DE8EDFF274A4AC284ED87102D8F1F5A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote>Natural
			 Resource Protection Cooperative Agreement Act</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="ID5B79231A10A8469586B84964BAFBCDBF"><enum>2.</enum><header>Cooperative
			 agreements for national park natural resource protection</header>
			<subsection id="ID9990669A2A15494F828583CAF4CD9EA2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 General</header><text>The Secretary of the Interior (referred to in this Act as
			 the <quote>Secretary</quote>) may enter into cooperative agreements with State,
			 local, or tribal governments, other Federal agencies, other public entities,
			 educational institutions, private nonprofit organizations, or willing private
			 landowners to protect natural resources of units of the National Park System
			 through collaborative efforts on land inside and outside of National Park
			 System units.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="ID551019BDABD346E597436F8456A637ED"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Terms and
			 Conditions</header><text>A cooperative agreement entered into under subsection
			 (a) shall—</text>
				<paragraph id="IDD6D78AA1344541AEB26B099663B1F292"><enum>(1)</enum><text>provide
			 for—</text>
					<subparagraph id="ID793839420C314B90A6A52981490886B4"><enum>(A)</enum><text>clear and direct
			 benefits to natural resources of a unit of the National Park System;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID821C387CD85E4E87A8135CE660B7314C"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the preservation,
			 conservation, and restoration of coastal and riparian systems, watersheds, and
			 wetlands;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="IDC4FDD8AE947F491E95076F3A7F466B2F"><enum>(C)</enum><text>preventing,
			 controlling or eradicating invasive exotic species that occupy land within a
			 unit of the National Park System or adjacent to a unit of the National Park
			 System; or</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="ID1F16CC2E8ED94C3E8CAC1E568F6FD689"><enum>(D)</enum><text>restoration of
			 natural resources, including native wildlife habitat;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="ID590EAE622BBF4C25AF763F25C4E8C478"><enum>(2)</enum><text>include a
			 statement of purpose demonstrating how the agreement will—</text>
					<subparagraph id="ID67AA4C515D3942198D586FC3C2EA0ECA"><enum>(A)</enum><text>enhance
			 science-based natural resource stewardship at the unit of the National Park
			 System; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="IDBCE0DDC8365A48B284FAB71537D57E81"><enum>(B)</enum><text>benefit the
			 parties to the agreement;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="IDD5EDB854B4444D7E839939156A387603"><enum>(3)</enum><text>specify any staff
			 required and technical assistance to be provided by the Secretary or other
			 parties to the agreement in support of activities inside and outside the unit
			 of the National Park System that will—</text>
					<subparagraph id="ID76F0FF49444E4E8F82CE0FDD9E335634"><enum>(A)</enum><text>protect natural
			 resources of the unit; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="IDB5081BAE05834218ACA4B31A54FE1CD0"><enum>(B)</enum><text>benefit the
			 parties to the agreement;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="ID26EAB697E7804729806F117ACC72CA6A"><enum>(4)</enum><text>identify any
			 materials, supplies, or equipment that will be contributed by the parties to
			 the agreement or by other Federal agencies;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="ID66301DBD9AF64E4AA44711F775389E60"><enum>(5)</enum><text>describe any
			 financial assistance to be provided by the Secretary or the partners to
			 implement the agreement;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="ID7D9DB7828BEC4CA4B92EAD67700A900F"><enum>(6)</enum><text>ensure that any
			 expenditure by the Secretary pursuant to the agreement is determined by the
			 Secretary to support the purposes of natural resource stewardship at a unit of
			 the National Park System; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="ID884E09531BA9487B99C98106452A3806"><enum>(7)</enum><text>shall include
			 such terms and conditions that are agreed to by the Secretary and the other
			 parties to the agreement.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ID57E72DF372A64B5C81E5713BD7AB8224"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Limitations</header><text>The
			 Secretary shall not use any amounts associated with an agreement entered into
			 under subsection (a) for the purposes of land acquisition, regulatory activity,
			 or the development, maintenance, or operation of infrastructure, except for
			 ancillary support facilities that the Secretary determines to be necessary for
			 the completion of projects or activities identified in the agreement.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="IDF62F63966E534B4C981610164FC5D4C3"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Authorization
			 of Appropriations</header><text>There are authorized to be appropriated such
			 sums as are necessary to carry out this Act.</text>
