<official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to establish within the Department of Veterans Affairs the position of Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Department of Veterans Affairs Reorganization Act of 2007</short-title></quote>.</text> </section> 
<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id927C2C5565934F578ABDF54536CA3FB6"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">References to title 38, United States Code</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Except as otherwise expressly provided, whenever in this Act an amendment is expressed in terms of an amendment to a section or other provision, the reference shall be considered to be made to a section or other provision of title 38, United States Code.</text> </section> 
<section id="idD537436145B14C2A8F62814B0EFE9229"><enum>3.</enum><header>Increase in number of authorized assistant secretaries; revision of functions</header> 
<subsection id="idB7717838B34447CDBD18C43ECDEF0A2C"><enum>(a)</enum><text>Section 308(a) is amended by striking <quote>seven</quote> and inserting <quote>eight</quote> in the first sentence.</text> </subsection> 
<subsection id="id2AFB1A2C18434E6DAF6A91C29D7D5C7E"><enum>(b)</enum><text>Section 308(b) is amended:</text> 
<paragraph id="id989D1330C1514942BA18F43526F7B8A0"><enum>(1)</enum><text>In paragraph (6), by striking <quote>Capital</quote> and inserting <quote>Construction capital</quote>; and</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="id80237B8532974DEB805E78AB19240587"><enum>(2)</enum><text>In paragraph (10) by striking <quote>Procurement</quote> and inserting <quote>Acquisition</quote>.</text> </paragraph></subsection></section> 
<section id="idFFE259B78E484958A8D920A21B5B5EA2"><enum>4.</enum><header>Increase in number of authorized deputy assistant secretaries</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 308(d)(1) is amended by striking <quote>19</quote> and inserting <quote>27</quote> in the first sentence.</text> </section> 
<section id="idCAB86FC3BE4A48399129F88309D6965D"><enum>5.</enum><header>Conforming amendments to title 38, United States Code</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Title 38, United States Code, is amended as follows:</text> 
<paragraph id="idE44042FFB4144B9EA56E8B542F55CE4A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Section 312A is repealed.</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="id957BB9DA33954E66B9471B30C2287FC0"><enum>(2)</enum><text><quote>312A. Director of Construction and Facilities Management</quote> is stricken from the table of sections at the beginning of chapter 3.</text> </paragraph></section> 
<section id="id50BF96A3070A4466B66F414CFC30B1D8"><enum>6.</enum><header>Conforming amendment to title 5, United States Code</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5315 of title 5, United States Code, is amended by striking <quote>Assistant Secretaries, Department of Veterans Affairs (7)</quote> and inserting <quote>Assistant Secretaries, Department of Veterans Affairs (8)</quote>.</text> </section>
