<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>International Emergency Economic Powers Enhancement Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section>

<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idC4707CC4283F419484E6D868CB582AC9"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 206 of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1705) is amended to read as follows:</text>

<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idC35A962FCCA340679DE1918BDEB97D44" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>206.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Penalties</header> 
<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id552DBA81EAF84A1BAE2DCEF492D9AB1D"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Unlawful acts</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It shall be unlawful for a person to violate, attempt to violate, conspire to violate, or cause a violation of any license, order, regulation, or prohibition issued under this title.</text> </subsection> 
<subsection id="id31A38CE0D7974193A997AEB2FD033D5C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header> 
<paragraph id="id808B3098086B4165A9989E3A963FA23C"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Civil penalties</header><text>Section 206(b) of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, as amended by subsection (a), shall apply to violations described in section 206(a) of such Act with respect to which enforcement action is pending or commenced on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="idC22B5F893D474994A70579139C04C1F3"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Criminal penalties</header><text>Section 206(c) of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, as amended by subsection (a), shall apply to violations described in section 206(a) of such Act with respect to which enforcement action is commenced on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text> </paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6BCCCA3DE7A64D788832341533639781"><enum>(c)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Criminal penalty</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A person who willfully commits, willfully attempts to commit, or willfully conspires to commit, or aids or abets in the commission of, an unlawful act described in subsection (a) shall, upon conviction, be fined not more than $1,000,000, or if a natural person, may be imprisoned for not more than 20 years, or both.</text> </subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </subsection> 
<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idED2D8723CEC9410982BF2A330B100D10"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by subsection (a) applies to violations described in section 206 of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1705) with respect to which enforcement action is pending or commenced on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text> </subsection></section>
