		  Security to establish new units of Customs Patrol Officers.</official-title>

		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idBF23A000832E4B34AA6B3A005607D8DB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Shadow Wolves Apprehension and
			 Tracking Act of 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idA15C87C2CF3F48ACBDD7565416589814" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Customs Patrol officers</header>
			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id68FB28E3DE444DB09D5322F2BBF3AD9E"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Purpose</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The purpose of this section is to authorize
			 the Secretary of Homeland Security, acting through the Assistant Secretary of
			 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (referred to in this section as the
			 <term>Secretary</term>), to establish new units of Customs Patrol Officers
			 (commonly known as <term>Shadow Wolves</term>) during the 5-year period
			 beginning on the date of enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="IDfe49b48c151f42ac8a034cbc85b40067"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Establishment of new units</header>
				<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idD4ED2B14E627441F88345B012FD19D97"><enum>(1)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">During the 5-year period beginning on the
			 date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary is authorized to establish within
			 United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement up to 5 additional units of
			 Customs Patrol Officers in accordance with this section, as appropriate.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id5B20F86695684A7DBD4544BB88E65BB8"><enum>(2)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Membership</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Each new unit established pursuant to
			 paragraph (1) shall consist of up to 15 Customs Patrol Officers.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID560f5db0316d4ced93f212ed7cf467de"><enum>(c)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Duties</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The additional Immigration and Customs
			 Enforcement units established pursuant to subsection (b)(1) shall operate on
			 Indian reservations (as defined in section 3 of the Indian Financing Act of
			 1974 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/25/1452">25 U.S.C.
			 1452</external-xref>)) located on or near (as determined by the Secretary) an
			 international border with Canada or Mexico, and such other Federal land as the
			 Secretary determines to be appropriate, by—</text>
				<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id66017846BF8C4DA98199440A0DD015BA"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">investigating and preventing the entry of
			 terrorists, other unlawful aliens, instruments of terrorism, narcotics, and
			 other contraband into the United States; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idAF6928A498744E888EBCE2AC9FF21340"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">carrying out such other duties as the
			 Secretary determines to be necessary.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idC57C1D0058104D0B818F4CA3F3DA0D7A"><enum>(d)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Authorization of
			 appropriations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There are
			 authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section such sums as are
			 necessary for each of fiscal years 2008 through 2013.</text>
