		<official-title>To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to require
		  staff working with developmentally disabled individuals to call emergency
		  services in the event of a life-threatening situation.</official-title>

		<section id="id4CAE844980474D98AF98A2799F4E47BB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as <quote><short-title>Danielle's Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id43CB5DD399DD4DD3A04742C96B909D38"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requirement of
			 Staff Working with Developmentally Disabled Individuals to Call Emergency
			 Services in the Event of a Life-Threatening Situation</header>
			<subsection id="HF38C188D69194D29A5816478E97C4E78"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1902(a) of the Social Security Act
			 (42 U.S.C. 1396a(a)) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HCAD6DBBCAF334519AA5341AD796E80D5"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (69),
			 by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H132502A38F284519ABFA63C5477D72F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in
			 paragraph (70), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>;
			 and</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H0B3D14C98A7E4267B5A782EBB8C2C3AE"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 paragraph (70) the following new paragraph:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8BBEE788DF774EA9BFEB89F38F978B00" style="OLC">
						<paragraph id="HA67FCC9ED454415600FAE6C37244CD8"><enum>(71)</enum><text>provide, in
				accordance with regulations of the Secretary, that direct care staff providing
				health-related services to an individual with a developmental disability or
				traumatic brain injury are required to call the 911 emergency telephone service
				or equivalent emergency management service for assistance in the event of a
				life-threatening emergency to such individual and to report such call to the
				appropriate State agency or
				department.</text>

				</paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4586A4D61A204174BABAF67604A798D3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 Date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) take effect on January
			 1, 2008.</text>
