		<official-title>To amend chapter 35 of title 28, United States Code, to
		  strike the exception to the residency requirements for United States
		  attorneys.</official-title>

		<section id="idDA6DB934F11247B196EF97A36BD25B42" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>United States Attorney Local Residency
			 Restoration Act of 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="idC2D3692B07E64E11A8C418DE32189A8A" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Repeal of residency
			 exception</header>
			<subsection id="id964C327ABC9943D4ABBE6AE51AE929FC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 545(a) of
			 title 28, United States Code, is amended by striking the last sentence.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="id4B9E84CD8E55441AABB506353BD0801E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date
			 and applicability</header>
				<paragraph id="idE5F358CC1F6C4A4DA33EB03208B0CDA4"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall—</text>
					<subparagraph id="idB1524FB441A04288B5AFD2B4E85511E2"><enum>(A)</enum><text>take effect on
			 the date of enactment of this Act; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id62BAA9F84DE24201A2A98A5923993905"><enum>(B)</enum><text>apply to any
			 person serving as a United States attorney or an assistant United States
			 attorney on or after such date of enactment.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id0844A41349D74082831345226EC61E5D"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Orders</header><text>Any
			 order issued under section 545(a) of title 28, United States Code, as in effect
			 on the day before the date of enactment of this Act, shall terminate on such
			 date of enactment.</text>
