		<official-title display="yes">Amending the Rules of the House of
		  Representatives to provide for division of the question on the legislative
		  proposals involved to allow separate votes on disparate
		  matters.</official-title>

	<resolution-body id="HF18039706FD64F06A0AD00BA6E303B7E" style="traditional">
		<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H0A7D8824F6364AB281FDA6F53996B6CE" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That clause 5(a) of rule XVI of the Rules
			 of the House of Representatives is amended by inserting <quote>(1)</quote>
			 after <quote>(a)</quote> and by inserting at the end the following new
			 subparagraph:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H53E5D7E316DF476982163B375FCEB17" style="OLC">
				<paragraph id="H3FB2225A04FD4D89A2A94D44498CAE8F" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>In deciding upon the question of
				division, the division shall depend on the legislative propositions involved
				and not upon grammatical
				structure.</text>
				</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
		</section><section id="HABBD0001FEF84AA19900F52346F9C6EF"><enum>2.</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Clause 6(c) of rule XIII of the Rules of
			 the House of Representatives is amended by striking the period at the end of
			 subparagraph (2) and inserting <quote>; or</quote> and by adding at the end the
			 following new subparagraph:</text>

				<paragraph id="H85085C8C7A794129B78FB649DA7FB2B3"><enum>(3)</enum><text>a rule or order
				that would waive clause 5 of rule
				XVI.</text>
