		<official-title display="yes">Supporting the goals and ideals of National
		  Fishing and Boating Week.</official-title>

	<preamble>
		<whereas><text>Whereas recreational boating and fishing are among this
			 country’s favorite pastimes;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas each year, more than 50,000,000 Americans enjoy
			 these activities;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas after years of steady growth, recreational boating
			 and fishing participation rates have leveled off and declined in some
			 States;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas stewardship of natural resources is based on
			 valuing natural resources, and avid boaters and anglers are among those who
			 most value the aquatic environment;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas anglers and boaters greatly contribute to aquatic
			 conservation efforts;</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the Congress passed the Sportfishing and Boating
			 Safety Act of 1998 (subtitle D of title VII of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/105/178">Public Law 105–178</external-xref>), requiring
			 the Secretary of the Interior to implement a national outreach and
			 communication plan to address participation issues associated with recreational
			 fishing and boating; and</text>
		</whereas><whereas><text>Whereas National Fishing and Boating Week will be the week
			 of June 2 through 10: Now, therefore, be it</text>
		</whereas></preamble>
	<resolution-body id="H7D5B9F5F62914F1700468C959950F516" style="traditional">
		<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HACB3915B527944ED007F1D2D53005C09" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the House of Representatives—</text>
			<paragraph id="HF501EC371346487A006F61C2E14CBD64"><enum>(1)</enum><text>supports the goals
			 and ideals of National Fishing and Boating Week; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H0D12C8EF3C844A4D8D078666FAC9C2E4"><enum>(2)</enum><text>urges the people
			 of the United States to recognize such a week as an opportunity to learn more
			 about boating.</text>
