		<legis-type>RESOLUTION</legis-type>
		<official-title display="yes">Amending the Rules of the House of
		  Representatives to strike rule XXVIII, popularly known as the <quote>Gephardt
		  rule</quote>, and to require recorded votes on measures that increase the
		  statutory limit on the public debt.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H9D405282E09E4B809074008CF300D1EB" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text>That rule XXVIII of the Rules of the
			 House of Representatives is amended to read as follows:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7ABEDEBFA32B4916AF1D1104268454C3" style="OLC"><rule id="H13D8E10F2A9A4478B2064037F7D7208C"><enum>Rule XXVIII</enum><header display-inline="no-display-inline">Statutory limit on public
				debt</header>
					<paragraph id="HDB92FEBB247D4922BF0423D7DE5E9B14" indent="up1"><enum></enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It shall not be
				in order to agree to a bill, joint resolution, or conference report increasing
				the statutory limit on the public debt unless the vote upon final passage of
				such measure is a recorded
				vote.</text>
