<legis-type>A BILL</legis-type> 
<official-title>To ensure that domestic dog and cat fur is prohibited from being imported, exported, manufactured, sold, or advertised in the United States and to require the labeling of all fur products under the Fur Products Labeling Act.</official-title>

<section id="H850E8DD563B741898229830070B61900" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Dog and Cat Fur Prohibition Enforcement Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H8725307D6A0F44D893E87895129B0419"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibiting any cat or dog fur product from being imported, exported, manufactured, sold, or advertised in the United States</header> 
<subsection id="HA25DEF0BBAD94885A6A4CB5F003DE72B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Domestic Cat</header><text>Section 308(a)(1) of the Tariff Act of 1930 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/19/1308">19 U.S.C. 1308(a)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote><italic>Felis catus</italic></quote> and inserting <quote><italic>Felis silvestris catus</italic> (or any species commonly known as a domestic cat)</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H988A3DB396E44E43B85D83511CDEBE50"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Domestic Dog and Raccoon Dog</header><text>Section 308(a)(5) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/19/1308">19 U.S.C. 1308(a)(5)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote><italic>Canis familiaris</italic></quote> and inserting the following: <quote><italic>Canis lupus familiaris</italic> (or any species commonly known as a domestic dog) or of any animal of the species <italic>Nyctereutes procyonoides</italic> (or any species commonly known as a raccoon dog)</quote>.</text></subsection></section> 
<section id="H15BA4D9E6AAB4DD788BC36BB4CFD297B"><enum>3.</enum><header>Requiring labeling of all fur products</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2(d) of the Fur Products Labeling Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/69">15 U.S.C. 69(d)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>; except that</quote> and all that follows through <quote>contained therein</quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HAB0462DE060742C29FE3E6715F0960E7"><enum>4.</enum><header>Effective Date</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The amendments made by sections 2 and 3 shall take effect 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act.</text> </section>
