<section id="H4F2C5F8DF7474CF08647B56E73D910C2" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Abuse of office in furtherance of a felony</header>
<subsection id="H8008BB2E0E4D47C70050B7EF6A5CE2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/93">Chapter 93</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<section id="H3D206BB49E294E20B481199E818568F1"><enum>1925.</enum><header>Abuse of office in furtherance of a felony.</header>
<subsection id="H9B5D9F00438D4B0F96B64FBB37CA26"><enum>(a)</enum><text>Whoever, as a public official, engages, or undertakes to engage, in any conduct in furtherance of a Federal felony, shall, in addition to the punishment provided for such felony, be fined under this title and imprisoned for 2 years.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H6B3BCC90AD2A42DD9CC0772C40316F9E"><enum>(b)</enum><text>In this section, the term <term>public official</term> means any of the following:</text>
<paragraph id="HEE98874EF2144C5DBB00B07F1698317D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>An official occupying an elected office of the United States or of a State or local government.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H6212C8AD955B4DCBBD045D70DF4FBA6D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>An official appointed to an office of the United States by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HF4AFC0CF991643C297F7E9E9F1C9AF07"><enum>(3)</enum><text>An official appointed to an office of a State or local government by an official elected to an office of a State or local government.</text></paragraph></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection>
<subsection commented="no" id="H1CF713230F78475C91A2174F8F2367B3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text>The table of sections at the beginning of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/93">chapter 93</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new item:</text>
