<section id="HD3ED8BA4C4124A4980B3D2A2D7FE93B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition on lobbying, political contributions, and contributions to nonprofit public policy organizations</header>
<subsection id="H73FA14D1F34343BEA06DE6C00720B012"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition on Lobbying Expenditures and Certain Contributions</header><text>An enterprise may not make—</text>
<paragraph id="HD14E1CC506FF49DC9CACDF7BC6B600"><enum>(1)</enum><text>lobbying expenditures;</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HC74AA2BA8651422A9E11F09000CDE1F7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>political contributions; or</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HA1508570007A4FAA9BF9B63346C534F"><enum>(3)</enum><text>contributions to any organization described under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/501">section 501(c)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H1410A70ED539489900F3003D3584D427"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definition</header><text>In this section—</text>
<paragraph id="H63B1E3FB155443359C9631921FBF27D9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the term <quote>enterprise</quote> shall have the same meaning given such term in section 1303 of the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/4502">12 U.S.C. 4502</external-xref>);</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HD0B055EFDDB54472ABD6BD91E7704ED2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the term <quote>lobbying expenditures</quote> shall have the same meaning given such term in <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/4911">section 4911(c)(1)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H90FF907784BB422483AAB0B8E9D5FFF"><enum>(3)</enum><text>the term <quote>political contributions</quote> means any contribution on behalf of a political candidate or to a separate segregated fund described in section 316(b)(2)(C) of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/441b">2 U.S.C. 441b(b)(2)(C)</external-xref>).</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H5C8CA67DA09C49C1B791E8891E111BC5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Penalties</header><text>Violations of this section shall constitute violations of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/31/1352">section 1352(a)</external-xref> of title 31, United States Code.</text></subsection></section>
