		<official-title>To require that radios used in the satellite digital
		  radio service be capable of receiving terrestrial digital radio
		  signals.</official-title>

		<section id="HC7425F534DE343C5AC5108277B409847" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Radio All Digital Channel Receiver
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HF6518552594B4CCD8DD7E7B9834BC7A6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Mandating
			 terrestrial digital radio receivers<editorial></editorial></header>
			<subsection id="HCB1C23219948442400C90679890000A2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Commission
			 Authority</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 303 of the
			 Communications Act of 1934 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/47/303">47 U.S.C. 303</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the
			 following new subsection:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H70FEFC691B2B47E6858611966838745B" style="OLC">
					<subsection commented="no" id="HD910D4FF8CB549BA00DD8F2D37F4E5D1"><enum>(z)</enum><text>Require that
				apparatus shipped in interstate commerce or manufactured in the United States
				that is designed to receive signals broadcast in both the satellite digital
				audio radio service and the terrestrial AM or FM radio broadcast service be
				equipped with technology that is capable of receiving and playing digital radio
				signals as transmitted by terrestrial AM or FM
				stations.</text>
					</subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HA37B0DA018144DD3B4C05152A09CBECF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 330 of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/47/330">47 U.S.C. 330</external-xref>) is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HC334640843E24445AA573BC99C7561E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by
			 redesignating subsection (d) as subsection (e); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H2B99797E9E254EE984A0285FE800C510"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subsection (c) the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H95C70D1076374825BFD505CE4AFB392" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="H4C3B6F0C176849B38DE2005BBC4CB9C8"><enum>(d)</enum><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H132C7F843AF448808ECEBD355BE8E994"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Except as provided in
				paragraph (2), no person shall ship in interstate commerce or manufacture in
				the United States apparatus described in section 303(z) of this Act unless such
				apparatus complies with the rules prescribed by the Commission pursuant to the
				authority granted by that section.</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H8FEDBDBA669E4838A2C7A36E46AD5970" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>This subsection shall not apply to
				carriers transporting apparatus referred to in
				<internal-xref idref="H132C7F843AF448808ECEBD355BE8E994" legis-path="(d)(1)">paragraph (1)</internal-xref> without trading in such
				apparatus.</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" id="HE29E533E7D154369835E729279035460"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Deadline for
			 Commission Action</header><text>The Federal Communications Commission shall
			 take all actions necessary to prescribe rules pursuant to the amendments made
			 by this section within 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act.</text>
