		<section id="H0E02DEFFABCE4EE9BB696883399F8642" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Accreditation of English
			 language training programs</header>
			<subsection id="HA1A10F65BFDA475BA3FDACA4FD7902D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 101(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8
			 U.S.C. 1101(a)) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H466C409F0ACF41029D2CA17569CA4FD1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph
			 (15)(F)(i), by striking <quote>a language</quote> and inserting <quote>an
			 accredited language</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H997938FCAAA24C248B459854A6FAC2EC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H0444389AE86A44FD94BCB6AC8F8BC55F" style="OLC">
						<paragraph id="HC3BEF7E2EBE740FEB9D8875983EC1C02" indent="up1"><enum>(52)</enum><text>The term <term>accredited language
				training program</term> means a language training program that is accredited by
				an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of
				Education.</text>
						</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA0B0509713A54E558BC3CA6FB43D87E0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header>
				<paragraph id="H2C1FCE76500F4D33A366B007C49F6CC"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Except as provided in paragraph (2), the amendments made
			 by subsection (a) shall—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HB753DE4BC02B4841A5677330F300AEA3"><enum>(A)</enum><text>take effect on the
			 date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H00AFBD614EB44CB5AB00DAF7AE440885"><enum>(B)</enum><text>apply with respect
			 to applications for a nonimmigrant visa under section 101(a)(15)(F)(i) of the
			 Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(F)(i)</external-xref>) that are filed on
			 or after the effective date described in subparagraph (A).</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H0557CCFB66454CBC954D600034416EF9"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Temporary
			 exception</header>
					<subparagraph id="HA50EC520A4FA481F80ED4304CF9D5413"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Notwithstanding section 101(a)(15)(F)(i) of the
			 Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended by subsection (a), during the
			 3-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act, an alien
			 seeking to enter the United States to pursue a course of study at a language
			 training program that has been certified by the Secretary of Homeland Security
			 and has not been accredited or denied accreditation by an entity described in
			 section 101(a)(52) of such Act may be granted a nonimmigrant visa under such
			 section 101(a)(15)(F)(i).</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H30410AC7CC5D47BAA6DDD1D1124CFDAF"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Additional
			 requirement</header><text>An alien may not be granted a nonimmigrant visa under
			 subparagraph (A) if the sponsoring institution of the language training program
			 to which the alien seeks to enroll does not—</text>
						<clause id="HD746A0B20C734F4982F77B92196C7E4D"><enum>(i)</enum><text>submit an
			 application for the accreditation of such program to a regional or national
			 accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education within 1 year after
			 the date of the enactment of this Act; and</text>
						</clause><clause id="H41A350668ACB42E192979740B11E71BB"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>comply with the
			 applicable accrediting requirements of such agency.</text>
