		<section id="H66234611B40F4A5AAA673DE152FE7181" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>National Debt Reduction Trust Fund Act of
			 2008</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H3A00FDE47CFE47BB8313BA61E0C56400"><enum>2.</enum><header>National Debt
			 Reduction Trust Fund</header>
			<subsection id="HA147BC628A164D74A1D26F4B267F5061"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Establishment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There is established in the Treasury of the
			 United States a trust fund to be known as the <quote>National Debt Reduction
			 Trust Fund</quote> (hereinafter in this section referred to as the <quote>Trust
			 Fund</quote>), consisting of such amounts as may be appropriated or credited to
			 the Trust Fund as provided for in this section.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HFACA11BD3A57451EB6CF354E2508003B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Transfers to the
			 Trust Fund</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of
			 the Treasury shall transfer to the Trust Fund out of the general fund of the
			 Treasury of the United States amounts equivalent to the funds received in the
			 Treasury after January 1, 2009, that the Secretary, in consultation with the
			 Secretary of the Interior, determines are attributable to rents, sales, bonus
			 bids, or royalties under the mineral leasing laws of the United States for the
			 exploration for, development of, or production of oil, natural gas, or oil
			 shale located on Federal lands, including submerged lands, in Alaska or the
			 outer Continental Shelf (as defined in section 2 of the Outer Continental Shelf
			 Lands Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/1331">43 U.S.C. 1331</external-xref>)), where such exploration, development, or production
			 began on or after January 1, 2009.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H02FA4A83D1444AC18EE5AED256F990EF"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Expenditures
			 from the Trust Fund for debt reduction</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Treasury shall, from
			 time to time, transfer amounts in the Trust Fund to the special account
			 established by <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/31/3113">section 3113(d)</external-xref> of title 31, United States Code.</text>
