<official-title>To amend the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965 to make available additional funds to increase access to the arts through the support of education.</official-title>

<section id="H9BBDA63796E64B2D9BCE4E19A1D109BA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"> This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Arts Education Advancement Act of 2007</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H96CA3317FA2A4E33924103D800B770C6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendments</header> 
<subsection id="HA624C8D3D49D4D11A6F029390003F281"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Use of Funds for Elementary and Secondary Education</header><text>Section 5A(b) of the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/954a">20 U.S.C. 954a(b)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H2783BA4E528641018687DE00004E6000"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (8) by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end,</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HB2079CEAE83642B595BC3FB04D4C9D7E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (9) by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>, and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H5425C21C00F74A87A346C8DD78409694"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<paragraph id="H604FB66587A44C83B41DFCB731488DA6"><enum>(10)</enum><text>increase accessibility to the arts through art education in formal systems of elementary and secondary education.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HE3C95CAC1443443BA1AD5CBDBA1DFCD8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Availability of Funds</header><text>Section 11(f)(1) of the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/960">20 U.S.C. 960(f)(1)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H6F3C28BBF2224A9A82CAD1EB3D26768B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>$175,000,000, 50 percent</quote> and inserting <quote>$98,000,000, 100 percent</quote>, and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H2A8FE75C131C43DBA0743CCB66CD9741"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following <quote>Of the aggregate amount made available to carry out section 5A in any fiscal year, 50 percent shall be made available for the use specified in section 5A(b)(10).</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection></section> 
<section id="H43A689CDDA2C48CBB9C000EBA9458CFF"><enum>3.</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"> This Act and the amendments made by this Act shall take effect on the 1st day of the 1st fiscal year that begins after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></section>
