		<official-title>To amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of
		  1965 to authorize pilot or demonstration programs to prepare high school
		  students to pass the United States citizenship exam.</official-title>

		<section id="H8AD2D07315B342DA952DEA68B7A8F6E0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Act may be cited as the <quote>People
			 Resolved to Obtain an Understanding of Democracy (P.R.O.U.D.)
			 Act</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HE782255E2C4245F186B20193828E6395"><enum>2.</enum><header>
			 Programs to prepare high school students to pass the United States citizenship
			 exam</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 5411(b) of the
			 Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/7241">20 U.S.C. 7241(b)</external-xref>) is
			 amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HACFF306E5F16468FB2C26FAB7D389885"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 paragraph (9) as paragraph (10); and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H5C43726A307542B6B97829D757911FA9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 paragraph (8) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HCDE5F39984C94E0EB7A92B0500E1187F" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="H56AF6A415BAE4F298F9B64C5456D4C6E"><enum>(9)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Demonstration or pilot programs to develop
				and implement a secondary school curriculum to assist high school students who
				intend to apply for United States citizenship to meet the requirements under
				section 312 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C.
				1423).</text>
					</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph></section><section id="H460FF4E5A7EE4A9B822F689ECA37351B"><enum>3.</enum><header>Authorization of
			 Appropriations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">There are
			 authorized to be appropriated $150,000,000 to carry out this Act for fiscal
			 year 2010.</text>
