		  Act to provide a 1-time adjustment in certain dollar amounts to account for
		  inflation over the 21 years since the enactment of such Act, to provide for
		  future adjustments of such amounts on a regular basis, and for other

		<section id="HF6D0117BE0744E000073C0C38CE3672" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Expedited Funds Availability Dollar
			 Limits Adjustment Act of 2008</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HD69A2A534D6D45C7B5BF5748308409E5"><enum>2.</enum><header>1-time adjustment
			 of dollar amounts</header>
			<subsection id="H592098F8FB7C420A9B2B65339B5FD39E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Next business
			 day availability</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section
			 603(a)(2)(D) of the Expedited Funds Availability Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/4002">12 U.S.C. 4002(a)(2)(D)</external-xref>)
			 is amended by striking <quote>$100</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>$175</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H9C8E647704E344959EF2F8FBB61502F3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Cash withdrawal
			 dollar limit</header><text>The first sentence of section 603(b)(3)(B) of the
			 Expedited Funds Availability Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/4002">12 U.S.C. 4002(b)(3)(B)</external-xref>) is amended by
			 striking <quote>$400</quote> each place such term appears and inserting
			 <quote>$700</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H486B83FEB0F84E9D9F9C4CA234D7B768"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header>
				<paragraph id="HE2922E198F8F4C4B8F68471B48CD87EB"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made
			 by subsections (a) and (b) shall apply after the end of the 1-year period
			 beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H827E0DADB1564B55B6B1E5E3925E7A3"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Regulations</header><text>Before
			 the end of the 1-year period described in paragraph (1), the Board of Governors
			 of the Federal Reserve System shall prescribe such regulations as may be
			 necessary to implement the amendments made by this section.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section><section id="H5520627CF083492AACF507B16DD934F"><enum>3.</enum><header>Subsequent
			 indexation of dollar amounts</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 607 of the Expedited Funds
			 Availability Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/12/4006">12 U.S.C. 4006</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following
			 new subsection:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HA25803589434429BB4F0061B83728315" style="OLC">
				<subsection id="HC2B06F661EFD4705B85B33B812198448"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Adjustment for
				inflation</header>
					<paragraph id="HFA8FEC99316D4641A0A6004EF1CA6ED2"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Before the end of the
				6-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of the Expedited Funds
				Availability Dollar Limits Adjustment Act of 2008 and at least every 5 years
				after the expiration of such period, each dollar amount contained in sections
				603(a)(2)(D) and 603(b)(3)(B) shall be increased by an amount determined by the
				Board to be equal to—</text>
						<subparagraph id="H410605A4ACE04057BC1E63A8AE44EB00"><enum>(A)</enum><text>such dollar
				amount, multiplied by</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H770F3F3014BB42D783E8AC7CA529FB1D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the cost-of-living
				adjustment for such period.</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HDAE6489D63BB43D9B6EE001B5765CAD"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Cost of living
				adjustment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of
				paragraph (1), the cost-of-living adjustment for any period is the percentage
				(if any) by which—</text>
						<subparagraph id="H6F7F43EFDD174FC39ED406AAF3D2D1FD"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the published
				annual value of the Consumer Price Index for the calendar year preceding the
				date of the determination by the Board under paragraph (1), exceeds</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H5C10377C758E49049248A4895C1024C5"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the published
				annual value of the Consumer Price Index for the calendar year 2008.</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H5DA5712FA9504D6687868E1534D12057"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Consumer price
				index defined</header><text>For purposes of paragraph (2), the term
				<quote>Consumer Price Index</quote> means the Consumer Price Index for
				all-urban consumers published by the Secretary of Labor.</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph id="H8AE2747C398B410400853F5106C5661B"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Rounding</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If any increase determined under paragraph
				(1) is not a multiple of $25, such increase shall be rounded to the nearest
				multiple of $25.</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph id="HCA2F83956D07467A92C1662D04DD47C"><enum>(5)</enum><header>Publication</header><text>The
				Board shall publish the adjusted amount for each dollar amount determined under
				paragraph (1) in the Federal Register promptly upon making such
				determination.</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph id="HFE81D0D781D04C9EA9015ECB3D7736C3"><enum>(6)</enum><header>Effective
				date</header><text>The adjusted amounts shall take effect at the end of the
				120-day period beginning on the date by which a determination is required under
				paragraph
				(1).</text>
					</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
