		  the penalty for certain child labor violations.</official-title>

		<section id="H4E350971BA7944518C1838F048C2B600" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Child Labor Safety
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H523AD32DFBF3491CA98458AC0081E072"><enum>2.</enum><header>Penalty for
			 oppressive child labor violations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 16 of the Fair Labor Standards Act
			 of 1938 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/215">29 U.S.C. 215</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HB63C260589954556A10635809CF42F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in
			 subsection (a), by striking <quote>No person</quote> and inserting <quote>Any
			 person who willfully violates the provisions of sections 12 or 13(c), or any
			 regulation issued under such sections, shall upon conviction thereof be subject
			 to a fine of not more than $50,000, or to imprisonment for not more than 6
			 months for each employee who was the subject of such a violation, or both.
			 Except for a violation of section 12 or section 13(c), no person</quote>;
			 and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HE4EC63818A174924BE241B988BC2C53"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in
			 subsection (e)(1)(A)—</text>
				<subparagraph id="H37CBF5BBDBD4480FA56D480824518040"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>$11,000</quote> in clause (i) and inserting <quote>$50,000</quote>;
			 and</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC71ED4950CAE4BA300D4EBB0B7D83BA4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>$50,000</quote> in clause (ii) and inserting
			 <quote>$100,000</quote>.</text>
