			 provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee

		<section id="HBE2B8296FCA349F7B2DDB28744857FA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Administrative Review Improvement Act
			 of 2008</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H3FF638CAEE104423B6B1032C9821D03B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendments to the
			 Congressional Review Act</header>
			<subsection id="H07BBD838B4B2483E9266F83FC26E68C1"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Referral of
			 reports</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/5/801">Section 801(a)(1)(C)</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code, is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HB2F3C1944C4F4F87803EFAC923A99BC8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>the House of Representatives or</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H057378E0BA14454B98F63BCEDC76E521"><enum>(2)</enum><text>and inserting
			 <quote>in the case of the House of Representatives, each relevant committee of
			 the House of Representatives and, in the case of the Senate</quote> after
			 <quote>ranking member of </quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HBE715EE2DB784B21BF1E4DEEA09434D3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definition of
			 <quote>relevant committee</quote></header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/5/804">Section 804</external-xref> of title 5, United
			 States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HDFA2FD3D0AF644B6A9BBFB0921363833" style="USC">
					<paragraph id="HBF2DED2832004D249E583DD7CB8FC78C"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>relevant committee</quote>
				means—</text>
						<subparagraph id="HA62DA1CA2D4E414FB09FF3E226CBC84"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">each committee of the House with
				jurisdiction under the rules of the House to report a bill to amend the
				provision of law under which the rule is issued; and</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1F08220CBE244677B34F958ECB24F3AB"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the Committee on
				the Judiciary, as the committee of the House with jurisdiction under the rules
				of the House to report a bill to amend subchapter II of chapter
				5.</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H0F74923B19BB446ABFA07E3849527754"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendments relating to identification of relevant committees</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/5/8">Chapter 8</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code,
			 is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H7A9DD22D6D2842A5BF02DA59823D2065"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in section
			 801(a)(2)(A), by striking <quote>in each House of the Congress</quote> and
			 inserting <quote>in the Senate and each relevant committee in the
			 House</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HD1A669B8FDCC415CB9C11B4CFEE2174"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in
			 section 802(b)(1), by striking <quote>the committees in each House of Congress
			 with jurisdiction</quote> and inserting <quote>the appropriate committees in
			 each House</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H800AC28C13C6451EA92FEB8438D55719"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by
			 this Act shall take effect 60 days after the date of the enactment of this
			 Act.</text>
